Highlights of past dramatic narrative endeavors:
A number of shorts (5 minutes or less) where there is no director and the actors only have ten minutes to rehearse a script in hand reading. A playwrights wet dram
A play development group started by Conrad as the original New Plays Coop where actors and writers came together weekly to develop plays and technique
Trouble In Helenville....
A full length play that blurred the lines between satire and epic tragedy (of global proportions) in which Helen became the first woman president and her VP was the first black man to run for president. Obviously the primary election of 2008 sent this play to the shredder.
A number of political comedy sketches back in the day when politics was still marginally humorous
The night before his execution for a heinous crime of terrorism, LeCarte is visited by Skygge and given an escape of sorts if only he can make amends and forgive himself
Screenplay & Stage play
A one woman show made up of a compelling combination of narrative drama, art, dance expression and aerobatics. She/we take herself and ourselves through the story of us from our beginnings to our end.
Needle In the Mind of God
A not too distant future when what's left of the human race is forced to live north of the Arctic Circle and even that will not support them. A study in what happens when we might have to reach out to each other in the reality in which we are all connected.
Stage play (Short story in process and screenplay forthcoming
Patterned after 12 step support groups, a brother and sister create a group to help survivors of climatic disasters in this near-future (maybe tomorrow) play that examines how environmental responsibility my very well play out as an extreme version of 2nd smoke. Consider the animosity created in non-smokers when their health was threatened by smokers Extrapolate that to the level of anger felt by a climatically responsible person would feel if their whole family and town were destroyed due to global warming.
